About The Blog
I used to write in a journal.
I wrote about everything and nothing and all of the things in between.
I told my stories even though no one would read them, maybe not even me once I turned the page. And I loved every minute of the thrilling rush that was putting pen to paper.
But now I want to share, and here is the place where I will. Here is where I will write the story of who I was, who I am and who I want to be. Of the family that made me and continues to make me. Of the New York life I never thought I would have and the big law firm career I never thought I would want. Of the books that fulfill me and the running that sustains me.
Of the deliciously unexpected ways that life can surprise.
About Me
I'm a trusts & estates lawyer, runner, writer and pop-culture junkie figuring out the suburbs of NYC, where I moved in 2012 after a seven year tenure in Manhattan.
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA - the city of my heart that will always be home to me.
I drag myself out of bed at dawn to run, I do all my writing in the middle of the day, I read Entertainment Weekly blogs constantly, and spend my nights binge watching TV shows in the company of my equally television-addicted husband.
Last year I had the supreme honor of having an essay I wrote published in an incredible book exploring female friendship called The HerStories Project: Women Explore the Joy, Pain and Power of Female Friendship, which was an absolute dream come true.
I have a giant family that I love beyond reason; a Marvel Comics-loving, robot building, brilliant entrepreneur of a husband who can fix or build anything; two sisters who are my heart and soul; and a niece and nephew who I smother with love whenever possible.
It's a loud, busy, full and beautiful life.
And it's mine.
Wow, we have so much in common! Life, love, running, writing, Manhattan, suburbs (well, I grew up there but am in Brooklyn now). Look forward to following you more in the future!
