The Bird's Morning Song

I toss and turn. Throw blankets off. Pull them on.

In the darkness my mind races with worries.

Then, dawn peeks through my window. The birds sing their morning song.

Reminding me that it's a new day. And everything can be different.

  1. It's one of my favorite times of day. A new start repeated again and again! This was lovely, Sam.

this was a prayer of promise and I liked it for exactly that reason.

  6. I get insomnia really badly sometimes, and, yes, I love when it's finally morning and I can just get up and give up on trying to sleep when it will not come.
